Why MyBB?
Hello Kerosene
First off.. I think it's absolutely great you set up this forum.. and I really hope it takes off. I'm looking forward to many excellent threads from you and the rest of the IM'ers out there. I've been researching a few forums for some clients. I personally like vBulletin (not free), and was curious why you decided to go with MyBB vs phpBB. My client is interested in a free board, so I started looking at the the big players -- phpBB, SimpleMachines, etc. phpBB and MyBB seem very similar, but MyBB is less known (to me). Did you select this because of security, functionality, better administration, etc? I don't like phpBB's track record, and would like to have a good alternative for a free forum, and this is the first I've heard/seen myBB, and was hoping for some insight. RE: Why MyBB?
phpBB, SMF and MyBB all seem to be very similar as far as the end user is concerned, so it just comes down to security, and how friendly the admin/template system is to use. I've tested phpBB and SMF, but the MyBB admin just seems more logical and well thought out to me than the other two.
MyBB just 'felt right' from the minute I installed it

RE: Why MyBB?
I agree with Kerosene. Mybb just looks good in AdminCP. It is very similar to vbulletin. From free forum scripts I like punbb and mybb only. And I only registered here because it looks very good. I like it
I used mybb, punbb and vbulletin in my "career". Although I do not use mybb anymore since I sold the website and am left with punbb and vb I keep mybb in my mind if I get some good idea to establish a forum. Kerosene I wish you good luck. I will come and visit from time to time and you make sure to post some cool topics we can debate

Kerosene
I rolled out a myBB board this weekend for a client, and I think it'll work real well for what I need it to do. Thanks! hanji Money-Code -- Programming for affiliates blog -|- The Internet Marketing University |

RE: Why MyBB?
Never heard of MyBB until I joined this forum. I have worked with phpBB for years.

RE: Why MyBB?
First thing is for MyBB is that it is completely free. It has extensive administration panel and powerful plugin system which allows you to control every aspect of your discussion board.
